This day also signifies the founding when the 10th Guru of Sikhs, Shree Guru Gobind Singh Ji chose five peoples from the crowd of thousands known as 'Panj Piare' which means 'The beloved five'. After choosing them, they were baptized by the Guru and were declared as the first five members of "Khalsa". The Khalsa is the special group of initiated Sikhs, who are pure, clear and free, and consider Sikhism as its faith.
